Getting Rid of Pimples?

I've been having some pimples and blemishes and the like lately and I've tried using some basic face wash but it doesn't help any and I don't notice a difference. Is there anything that I can use that you have personally found good results in? I have a wedding to attend to in a month and I'd like to look as good as I can! I don't really mind how much it will cost.
