Question about final gpa when applying to colleges.?

I'm in a sticky situation. I'll be a senior in highschool this upcoming year, and have been looking into going to UIC, problem is in order to get into the College of Applied Health Sciences I must have a GPA of 2.7. And a min. ACT score of 24. I have the perfect ACT score, but my GPA is 2.61. I was wondering, I feel silly asking but, when I submit my transcripts and application and what not, will the university be looking at my CURRENT GPA (2.61) or.... will the grades i'll be getting after 1st semester be included in the application hopefully boosting my GPA up?
